A Serene At-Home Newborn Photo Session with Little Ingrid

There’s something truly magical about at-home newborn photo sessions. The coziness of a family’s space, the warmth of familiar surroundings, and the precious details that make a house a home all come together to create a uniquely personal atmosphere. That was exactly the case when I had the honor of photographing little Ingrid in her very first days.

I first met her parents, Cosmina and Stefan, during their maternity session back in June. Even then, their excitement was palpable, but seeing them now, with Ingrid in their arms, was a whole new level of joy. Their smiles were brighter, their love deeper, and their hearts so obviously full as they began their new journey as a family of three.

For Ingrid’s session, we opted for a palette of soft whites and creamy tones. The neutral colors created a serene and timeless feel, perfectly complementing the gentle innocence of a newborn. Wrapped snugly in delicate white swaddles, Ingrid looked like a tiny angel, her little features as delicate as porcelain. One of my favorite moments was capturing her cuddling with a white bunny plush—such a sweet touch that added a sense of warmth and playfulness to the photos.

We also included Cosmina and Stefan in several shots, documenting the deep connection they already share with their baby girl. There’s something so special about capturing the tender moments between new parents and their little one—the way Stefan gently held Ingrid in his large hands, and the way Cosmina’s face lit up as she gazed at her daughter. These images tell a story of love and beginnings, moments they’ll treasure for years to come.

Adding an extra layer of sentiment, Cosmina’s mother joined us for a few special portraits. It was heartwarming to see three generations of women together, celebrating this beautiful new chapter in their lives. As if the session couldn’t get any cuter, we had one more member of the family join in—Cosmina and Stefan’s adorable puppy! The little furball was curious about everything, sniffing Ingrid’s tiny toes and occasionally sneaking into the frame. The bond between Ingrid and her furry sibling is sure to grow, and these early moments captured on camera are priceless.

What made this session truly special was how relaxed and natural everything felt. There was no rush, no forced poses—just a family basking in the glow of their new beginning. At-home sessions allow for this kind of intimacy, and it’s a joy to be able to preserve these fleeting moments.
